Continuing their streak of mischievous, heartfelt forays into body-moving music, Eve Defy's enticing sound palette continues to evolve into an even deeper representation of the elasticity of their spirit: unrelenting strangeness, delivered with nimble finesse & grace. Influenced by spaces of self-actualization within the North American queer electronic world and their community in the Pacific Northwest, Eve Defy channels an electrifying current of binary-defying irreverence into their now-signature array of warpspeed frequencies. Throughout `illegal afters 03`, Eve Defy urges us forward into unfamiliar and peculiar yet utterly danceable realms.

"Clathrus" serves as the record's bombastic introductory fanfare, bursting into a flurry of unrelenting weirdness as only Eve Defy can manifest. Shards of refracted light ricochet wherever they please as skittering hi-hats & spectral currents engage in an intimate dance of dissonant beauty. A sense of humor courses through the controlled chaos, appearing as a hopeful & knowing foreshadowing of the obtuse sounds yet to come in `illegal afters 03`.

"Le Temple Du Soleil'' transports us to even queerer heights. Evocative swells of melody emerge over the track's celestial layer, as propulsive soul-moving bass glides effervescently underneath. Euphoria once muted is now allowed to breathe, shine, and bask in the glow of prismatic light. Despite a slow cancellation of the future punctuated by a sense of collective longing, we find solace together in shared states of exuberant nonbeing together.

Reflecting on erosion of self and of one's natural surroundings within this longing, "Oceanic Boundary Loss" guides us from one zone of the record to another, forming an otherworldly bridge between the two ends of an arduous journey.

"Sadie’s Cenotes" follows, embodying a delicate pursuit of serenity. Buoyant, elastic arrangements adorn the track in a floral display, maneuvering within themselves as gracefully as amphibious leaps between lilypads. As the velocity shifts towards a mid tempo bounce, nimble hi-hats, oscillating melodic flourishes, & supple basslines deftly weave amidst a chorus of ethereal femininity from beyond & within. Newfound peace is encapsulated in a sonic ballet, taking shape as a tender bite of the apple in further pursuit of knowledge.

"Taut & Gleaming" enmeshes us in a euphoric entanglement of syncopated drums: cradling atonal bursts that eventually bloom into spritely notes alongside vivacious waves of intrinsic rhythm. A slipstream of hope & sentimentality burrows its way into our hearts and provides an ethereal sense of calm, at once a climactic & infinitely renewing display of emotion. One for the dreamers seeing us off into further unknowns.
